A strange world,

This review is from: Nightingale's Lament: A Novel of the Nightside (Mass Market Paperback)
The third in the series, and the author is getting up to speed. Although each book stands (more or less) on its own, to get the most out of this book you have to have read the other two. Although we learn more about the main protagonist in this book (as we have done in the earlier ones) the author more or less assumes that we will be familiar with subsiduary characters mentioned in previous books; on the other hand, some things are restated several times (even in this one book) e.g. the dangers of walking on the nightshade streets. Of Green's other books this mostly has the feel of mistworld with a touch of Hawke and Fisher. I will certainly buy others in this set as they are published.
