The Best single volume book on drag racing I've read,
This review is from: High Performance: The Culture and Technology of Drag Racing, 1950-2000 (Johns Hopkins Studies in the History of Technology) (Paperback)
This is not an entry level book for drag racing novices but as a technical history of the developemnt of drag racing it cannot be beaten. Many automotive sport fans fail to appreciate the technical developments that have been pioneered by drag racing believing that F1 is the pinacle of motor sport. It isn't. This book covers the true pioneers of speed and although written as an academic treatise it has been written by a fan and historian who happens to be an academic and it is this love of the sport that shines through. I have many books on drag racing and this is the best by far.
