book a month away from your life.,
This review is from: Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked & Loaded (PS2) (Video Game)I must admit i was awaiting the release of this game with a mixture of anticipation and trepidation. I was severly disapointed with Jak II and hoped the same would not be true with this, i also was hugley fond of the first game could it live upto the first episode?
well the answer is a resounding YES! the game is quite simply staggering, the naughty dog game engine has been used to produce draw dropping scenery and enemies so detailed its hard not to just sit and look at them instead of kicking their slimy butts into next week.
Gameplay is much the same as in the first game and the controls are simple to master with helpful messages popping up evrytime you get a new gadget. there is a wide choice of weapons from the serious RYNO II to the hilarious sheepinator. The difficulty is set at just the right level never too easy but never too hard (unlike it's stablemate Jak and Daxter)and the "one more go" factor is high in this game.
the insomniac boys have added some interesting extra's to the game, such as the skill points system where cryptic clues are given to a task, upon completing the task a point is given which unlocks extra's such as mirrored level, extra costumes etc. The arena allows you to rack up currency to purchase bigger and badder weapons. even the cut scenes between the levels are fantastic especially the one entitled "and i need it delivered" possible the finest peice of comedy i have seen so far in a game.
The replay factor is also high, completing the game opens new modes of play and new challenges as well as bonuses and secrets, ive played it through three times and still not unlocked everything!
All in all another triumph from the insomniacs, a game to keep you playing and playing and playing.....
