Love that robot!,
This review is from: Saturn 3 [DVD] (DVD)
Odd 80s film starring Farrah Fawcett who is cute, flashes a breast, and can't act, and her lover Kirk Douglas who is too old, flashes his buttocks, and can act. Hector the robot is a deranged formidable presence who gets the hots for Farrah and why not. This causes jealousy as owner Harvey Keitel also wants Farrah. Hector tries to seduce her but Kirk attempts to stop it. The robots owner Keitel is as deranged as Hector. It is an unfriendly square triangle of romance and mayhem as the robot takes on allcomers in order to win the affections of Farrah.
Nice film to kick back to and not bad effects overall. The music is terrific, and the scenes with Hector are ominous and at times terrifying. Saw this on TV in the 80s and loved it then. Returning to it now I can see the plot holes but its a simple idea with 3 people fighting a massive robot on Saturnian spacecraft. Wonderful fun if you can put up with the acting.

Darren Mark Bennett says:
Farrah to be honest, wasn't called on to 'act' in many of her early roles, the scripts and the directors thought it enough for her to just look the part. She did however put in some fantastic performances as an actress when she broke out of these cheesecake roles and just 4 years later in 1984 put in a critically acclaimed performance in The Burning Bed. Other notable performances like Small Sacrifices proved that she could act and was indeed a fine actress when given the chance to do so.
