I recently read Music Week and Kerrang which described this in no uncertain terms as a 'classic'. Most of the British press have untrustworthy opinions, -mainly the NME, who described My Vitriol as 'able to go only where Radiohead, Nirvana and the Manics have been before'. After The Vines and Hundred Reasons massive over-rating I was very skeptical. Looks like this time they have got it right.
I did not have the original release of Finelines or any of the singles, so this was an ideal purchase for me to discover the band.
Overall is is a very interesting record. The singles I had heard, 'Always Your Way' and 'Grounded' were good, but the album towers above them.
It is very hard to select highlights as all the tracks are great listening, and offer different aspects of the band.
This is and ambitious, atmoshperic, soulful, melodic rock treat.
Great guitar sounds. Powerful drums. Introspective lyrics. Beautiful melodies. Variety of presentation. This band has everything, and this is why
My Vitriol are leagues ahead of their contemporaries. BUY THIS RECORD YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! A Classic.
