A very moving and uplifting story,
This review is from: Becoming Anna: The Autobiography of a Sixteen-year-old (Paperback)
Having just finished this book, and working with teenagers who have been victims of abusive families, I wanted to add a review.
This book made protrayed a very balanced and objective view of the chilldhood, Anna was forced to endure. She is an inspiration to the human race and should continue her fight to have the voices of young people heard.
I am extremely disappointed to read the reviews concerning themselves with the 'truths' told in this book. Is there any one 'truth'? We should all remember that each persons pain is unique, no one else expereinces it - Anna has simply told her side of the story. Her story leads us to question the system that we place our young people within, one that states it will care for them, however she systematically shows that it to abuses them.
I would like to express me admiration to a young lady, who is wise beyond her years, despite her experiences has found her feet and will continue to grow into an advocate for young people. Well Done Anna
