The book's cover states that it is "primal, paleo,low-carb,grain-free,dairy free and gluten free". It may be grain-free, gluten-free and low (starchy) carbohydrate, it is NOT dairy free and is in fact full of recipes with butter, cream and cheese! Where it specifies butter, I suppose you could use your imagination and substitute coconut oil, but most of the recipes using cream use it as a base to give it some flavour...and for a lot of the recipes in here, you're going to need it!
I bought the book because I thought it would provide some inspiration for some straightforward recipes that were 'clean-eats' (in weightlifting terms) or compatible with the paleo style of eating. Disappointingly, most of the recipes in here were so simple that I'd already thought of them and there were so many dairy-based recipes I couldn't find any inspiration.
In conclusion, I really wouldn't recommend this book if you're looking for a true paleo cookbook, and certainly not if you're a reasonable cook with an imagination!
