Dull use of good actors and characters,
This review is from: The Juggernauts (Doctor Who) (Audio CD)
This story seems ideal for a Mystery Science Theatre treatment. Why the BBC would allow this childish, anoraky story to be published is a mystery? Especially coming with the release of the new series. Perhaps this is one of the reasons they are not taking any more new proposals for novels anymore. This would certainly taint the pool of prospective new fans.
I could barely stay awake through it. The audio acting was mostly good or great (especially Molloy's performance) given the crap script. The story is plodding, jumps from here to there with no explanation, the dialogue is a mix between Full House and Mutant X with Davros' lines sounding like Phantom Menace's petulant Hayden Christensen. How somebody could mess up such an exciting cast as Davros and the Daleks is amazing (Terry Nation is turning over in his grave). The synopsis made is sound very exciting, but it wasn't at all. Big disappointment reminiscent of the McCoy era of Doctor Who.
