Very good set of in ear headphones,
This review is from: Sennheiser Earphones CX475 Black (Personal Computers)
I've had various experiences with a number of different in-ear headphones. Some rubbish, some average, some good.
The Sennheiser CX475 are good imho. They're not tremendously expensive.
i) Sound quality - they're quite loud and work well with an iPod with plenty of audio - In fact I have to turn the volume down from maximum a lot of the time. Plenty of bass with little distortion. Good treble. In fact good across the entire audio frequency range.
ii) Ear comfort - They fit comfortably in the ear. I've had some in-ear headphones where the earbuds simply squash when inserting into the ear - These earbuds don't crush or crumple when put in to the ear
iii) Sound isolation: Brilliant. I use a lot of public transport and even with quite loud audio, please can't hear what I'm listening to. And vice versa, I can't hear them. Them make good earplugs to stop unwanted sounds getting to my ears.
iv) The wire - my only gripe - Why headphone manufacturers have to use a grippy rubber sheath on their cables beats the hell out of me. This means the wire grips to whatever it is touching. Admittedly, it's a nice flexible wire, but I wish headphone manufacturers used a wire insulator / sheath that was less grippy so it didn't snag on everything all the time.
This headphones are good value for money. I kill a set of headphones at least once a year so don't want to spend too much on them, but at the same time don't want to suffer with garbage headphones either.
I've had this set for a month now and am very satisfied with them.
