Avoid at all costs,
This review is from: Don Quixote [DVD] (DVD)
The Blu-ray transfer is truly awful. Even 1 star is too many. Beware, on reading the reverse of the Blu-ray package I see that it has been re-mastered from a 35mm 1972 film. That accounts for the very blurred & distorted visuals which means sometimes the dancers have 4 legs/4 arms (if you can see them) & the movements are jumpy. It's a real pain on the eyes. And the audio track is also poor. Stopped it after 30 minutes & will donate to the charity shop or bin. I expect the DVD is no better.

This review is absurd. I've had the dvd for several years and watched it many times because it is so good. The performance is breathtakingly outstanding and imaginatively staged. In my opinion this is the best DQ (not the greatest of ballets) you can buy. It's worth at least 4 stars merely because you can't expect the picture quality from 1972 to be of 2014 standard but it's still pretty good as is the soundtrack. And to see Nureyev at the height of his powers perform so spectacularly and with such great good humour is a privilege.
