Line6 getting it so right.,
This review is from: Line 6 Pod Hd500
Many people nowadays have experienced a Line 6 Spider amp at some point if they play guitar.
Most who have will have experienced than nearly any actual amplifier from a reputable manufacturer will sound a billion times better than a poorly modelled counterpart.
Line 6 have been improving their quality in leaps and bounds in the last few years. The spider valve was a big step towards authentic useable quality tones. The Pod X3 live delivered mass versatility to your feet.
But now the Pod HD really is exposing all of is genus products from Line 6 as the frauds they are.
Pod HD 500 has an amazingly large versatility range.
It has truly great sounds that are authentic to the ear and the responsiveness of your instrument, playing style and control. Maybe amp expansion packs would be good, but the 16 provided are all very high quality and pretty damn close in most cases.
The best thing i have found is that the learning curve with this powerful unit is actually quite small.
after watching a review on YouTube, i had a clue towards programming it and i was suprised at how simple it was to setup a dual sound, with routed effects and mapped input and output to my guitar and setup.
I have learned a lot more about just how deep you can go with the editing, but so far i haven't needed to.
It is definately setup for overwhelming patches at first but a tiny amount of editing brings everything back from smothered in effects to enhanced by effects.
really is a doddle. and the HD 500 that I got has more options than you can shake a small studio at.
Great value for such a pro sounding tool.
The next step up is the Eleven system and that is three times the cost without any controller.
