This review is from: Keeping Mum: Caring for Someone with Dementia (Paperback)
This is a very readable account of the author's experience of caring for her mother with Alzheimer's. I found it hugely comforting to know that someone else had struggled with many of the issues that I had struggled with caring for my mother. I thought I must be the only daughter who had reported my mother to the DVLA in an effort (successful) to have her driving licence withdrawn. It deals with not only the problems, but also the rewards of caring for someone with dementia. At times it is funny; at other times reflective. It will give carers lots of useful information and a warm feeling that they are not alone. It should be essential reading for all social workers, health care professionals and others who deal with people with dementia in their working lives.
