Good Product, but . . .,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Mio Spirit 695 LM UK Satelite Navigation System (Electronics)
This is the third Navman produced satnav I have had and is by far the most sophisticated. It took a while to get used to the four different journey modes and some directions seemed erratic until I worked out the most suitable type for a particular journey. It has lifetime map updates and you have to register this with a supplied serial no. As maps were loaded when I bought the satnav, I didn't do this initially. The supplied CD is in PC format and although I have a Mac, I've had no problem with previous PC satnav software as I run a virtual PC via VM Ware Fusion. This time, however, when I installed the software, there was no way of registering for map updates as described in the manual. After a few abortive tries, I phoned Mio and was told that the software only worked properly on a native PC. In view of this, I have sold the satnav on. I have seen no mention of this problem in any Mio documents or reviews on line and mention it here in case anyone else is under the impression that this software will work on a Mac running a virtual PC. Be warned!
