Rode NTG 2,
Super quiet directional microphone nearly as good as a Sennheiser ME66,I get best results with my HV30 set to manual audio and the gain level just under half way, I did connect to the camera through a Beachtek XLR connector but the levels were too low so I just connected straight to the camera with an XLR to 3.5mm jack and the levels are much higher. Great service as always through Amazon.

Just a thought, as I am planning to purchase this microphone myself and would be most grateful for your elaboration prior to purchase. Which version of the Beachtek are you using? Some include Phantom Power ( eg. The DXA-6A) and others do not (DXA-2T). If you are using the DXA-2T, which does not facilitate phantom power, then I would assume that it requires Phantom power via an additional agency (e.g. mixer box) in order to achieve maximum capacity in these circumstances, as I suspect that the battery alternative would not properly serve the purpose via the Beachtek. Consequently it makes sense that a direct connection would work (also in this situation). I would really appreciate your response regarding which version of the Beachtek you are using in order to make an appropriate decision on this matter.
