This review is from: Aqua Optima EVD912 Evolve 60-day Water Filter, also fits Brita* Maxtra*,12 pack - 2 year's supply (Kitchen & Home)
For almost a year I felt very happy with these filters: they fit my Brita [Marella] jug, no leaking, long life. After a year, however, I started to notice a bunch of very small shortcomings that the original Brita filters don't have:
1) it takes a while to let the air out before inserting a new filter;
2) the first two-three times the water is really dark and leaves stains in the sink;
3) filtering is really slow, especially after the first few weeks.
I filter water quite often, 5-10 times a day, and I live in a residence with very hard water, so I guess for someone else somewhere else these filters can be perfect. And they're really not bad for the price. So when Amazon doesn't have good discounts on the 12-month Brita pack, these ones will do just fine.
