Made by Raleigh?,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Raleigh Women's Activ Flyte II Rigid Mountain Bike - White, 17 Inch (Sports)
I bought this product expecting the same quality from a Raleigh bike as I had when growing up, but I was wrong. The bike is 'designed' by Raleigh, but made in Morocco. It arrived with the front forks back to front (this seems to be a habit, as a neighbour has the identical bike with backward facing forks too)and the front tyre was flat. It also appears to have come with a slow puncture as I have pumped it up on numerous occasions only for it to slowly deflate over a few days.
Comfort wise, it is not! However, a recently purchased gel saddle cover is helping things.
The gears don't engage cleanly, instead the chain clonks and rattles as it fails to get into gear.
For short journeys (on the near flat) it's OK as a back up, but it is a heavy bike and it takes a lot of work to get it up the gentlest of hills (especially with gears which don't seem to co-operate)
Overall, the manufacture quality isn't good and I wouldn't recommend it for a commute, not to mention up on hills, but for a 10 minute nip down to the shop, it's OK.
If the price is attractive, then go and take a test ride and then decide.

The front forks are not the wrong way round... you just turn them before you put the handlebars and front wheel in... they're just packed like that to require a smaller box.......! I think this reviewer wanted a rolls-royce for the price of a lada.....
