not for me....,
This review is from: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Xbox 360) (Video Game)I probably should have known better, but encouraged by the gaming frenzy that has surrounded this game- with such quotes as 'best rpg ever' i thought id give it a shot. First and foremost, this is a quality rpg, with the minutest attention to detail conveying the impression of a vibrant living world. But two factors in particular have prevented me from really enjoying the game. One, is the loading times. You need to travel around the map extensively and to do this you need to go into the start mode and select a location to travel to. sounds simple, and intially it is. But the loading time takes a good 2min and seeing as you need to travel pretty much every other move, this began to infuriate me beyond belief.
Second, I personally felt that the game was too big. For me, I like to work towards a realisable target of finishing a game (that is after mainly the reason games are bought and played) but in oblivion- the ammount of missions on offer simply overwhelm and disorientate the gamer. I have since sold oblvion because I felt that it did not provide the gaming experience i was hoping for. If, like me, you to complete your games- then dont buy oblivion.
