Superb introduction to Evolutionary Psychology,
This review is from: The Moral Animal: Why We Are The Way We Are (Paperback)
Popular science can be written in one of two ways: a scientist learning to communicate, or a writer researching a topic and then presenting it clearly.
This work is an example of the second type, at its best.
It is actually two books : one a brilliant introduction to Evolutionary Psychology, and the other a brief & breezy biography of Darwin. They are presented in roughly alternating chapters.
Wright has mastered the topic, and swooshes us through evolutionary science as it applies to mating, family life, altruism, status, deception, religion, and happiness.
Engrossing and fascinating, this is a must for any bookshelf.
