It says it's an compilation of recipes which have been in the Observer Food Monthly. However reading the actual introduction in the book it says that some have been previously published, but many more are completely new. You have to decide for yourself whether that is a plus or minus point when wanting to buy the book, but for me it was a minus, because I might not have bought it if I had known this beforehand. I don't normally read the magazine, so a 'best of' was what tempted me to buy the book.
One of the very few dishes I laid my eyes on uses potato mash from a packet as ingredient. Not really my type of cooking
