Making Practical Sense of Revelation,
This review is from: Discipleship on the Edge: An Expository Journey Through the Book of Revelation (Paperback)
This is an excellent book. If you want half baked, speculative ideas about how the world will end - then this is not the book for you!
Instead, Darrell Johnson demonstrates quite clearly how the biblical book of Revelation was written as a discipleship manual. I certainly have a better grasp of Revelation after reading Johnson's work.
One point to note is that the book is really a collection of 30 sermons. So, if you read it through from start to finish in one go, you will find that the author repeats himself on a number of occasions, as he seeks to draw out the great themes of Revelation. This can be irritating, but I think it will be very useful for future use: I'm most likely to dip in and out of various chapters, using this work as a reference guide. Because Johnson does repeat himself, I am unlikely to miss anything important.
