This review is from: Heroin: A True Story of Drug Addiction, Hope and Triumph (Paperback)
Was looking forward to reading this after reading the good reviews.. what a disappointment. This is badly written. Very matter of fact, lack of detail and most of the book is about the childhood of the author rather than about the actual addiction. From a book such as this, I would expect some detail of the childhood but a lot of it was irrelevant, particularly considering the title of the book.
The journey through the authors addiction lacked detail and was barely descritive - not at all what I would expect from an autobiography of such a serious addiction.
I read a lot of books about drug addiction so perhaps I expected more compared with some of the other amazing other books I've read although whatever category this comes under, it's not worth the money.
