Dubious "factual" account,
This review is from: The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom (Paperback)
Although this book is mildly entertaining at times,it is impossible to accept it as a factual account of the alleged journey. There are far too many obvious "holes" and impossibilities woven into the tale-some blindingly obvious but others hit you a couple of pages later and you find yourself thinking"hang on a minute" before retracing back and finding glaring contradictions in the narrative. As a piece of fiction it just about stands scrutiny but as a factual book.......no chance I am afraid.
Buy it by all means as a way of filling a couple of hours but do not expect a moving, serious account of an epic journey-if you do then you will be seriously disappointed or even(as I was)offended that someone expects you to believe this far fetched nonsense.
