Greatest Blues Player? Probably.,
This review is from: A Day In Nashville (Audio CD)
Robben Ford is arguably the greatest living blues guitarist. His tone, touch, phrasing and note choice are impeccable.
Unfortunately I am not a fan of his singing voice. It's too light and weak for the blues. It reminds me a little bit of Jules Holland.
This album is about 80% blues which is A Very Good Thing. There are a couple of more pop-oriented numbers which don't work for me but which others may like.
I particularly like his continued use of trombone in some songs.A much underrated and underused instrument in blues.
This is a very good album but please Robben, give the singing duties to someone else.
