I work hard to make every strategy as easy to implement for every reader, and to highlight the benefits, so I am disappointed to have let you down. Regarding the example you picked out about Pinterest, I do write in the next sentence that you can "create interest in your own content by asking users to let you know what they think, asking them to `like' if they're impressed, or to guess where a particular photo was taken." There are many other ideas in other chapters that can be applied to Pinterest, too.
