This review is from: The First Five Pages (Paperback)
With the emphasis on writing quality prose, rather than plot development, this book exposes the flaws commonly found in the work of new writers. It gives sound advice for remedy, including end-of-chapter exercises to help you put into practise what you've learnt. It is methodical, concise, instructive - and accessible, I intend to keep it close to hand for reference as I edit my thrice-rejected first novel!
