Disappointing and risky-themed read.,
This review is from: Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination (Hardcover)
Olivia Joules is a ditsy reporter who seems to fall in love with every man she meets, hampering her career progress. Her big break comes when her over-active imagination fancies a Hollywood playboy as none other than Osama Bin Laden and so begins a round-the world journey to prove her theory. The subject matter therefore became rather perturbing: a self-styled spy who is more often than not distracted on her missions by the muscles of the local men, yet is fearless all the time she genuinely believes she is managing to infiltrate al-Qaeda.
The book is still enjoyable, and the few annoyances the reader may experience are put to one side as the ending must be reached for us all to discover the truth! It is a fun read and the detailed descriptions of diving and the wonderful places visited seem accurate, thanks to the far-flung adventures of Helen Fielding herself.
In all, an average read, but incredibly far-fetched.
