I know this is a true story and a very sad one, but I found this book skimmed over the seriousness of it.
If this book were to be believed then Solomon had a few lashings with the whip. I'm sure in real life there were a lot more.
There is more detail given on how he made the fish trap or how to cut down cane. To me there was something lacking, maybe I chose the wrong version.
All of that doesn't take away from the fact how truly awful those years were. It still amazes me how one human being can be so evil to the next.
