Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Strange Cruise (Audio CD)
SC were a one off project for Visage frontman Steve Strange. This remaster from Cherry Red is excellent in sound quality (no vinyl whatsoever ) and should be on every diehard 80s fan's list.

Very informative, especially the 'no vinyl' part ! Would like to make sure the SPARKS digipack CD re-release of 'N°1 In Heaven' (expanded Repertoire 2013 edition) is of equal (non-vinyl) excellent quality ?

I very much doubt it. After Repetoire's recent disastrous Icehouse releases...

Well, I can only hope Lil' Beethoven Records releases the original mastertapes of 'Heaven' someday. Repertoire made a right mess of the 12" compilations released on CD last year (they even managed to milk 3 volumes featuring vinyl rips. Big Sparks fan myself, but never buying anything on Repertoire ever again, that's for sure. As for Steve Strange/Visage, a boxset featuring their first two albums plus all extended versions & b-sides (culled from original tapes) wouldn't go amiss, would it? As far as this solo effort is concerned, I can't be all that bothered right now, nothing earth-moving on here, and fair's fair: Steve Strange can't really sing now, can he? Then again, the Ultravox dark magic spread on 'Visage' & 'The Anvil' made for two iconic albums that desperately need to get some kind of extended re-release.
