This review is from: Why Love Matters: How Affection Shapes a Baby's Brain (Paperback)
I read this book earlier this year and ironically have to do a review on it as part of a course I am undertaking.
I found it fascinating and amazing as well as very informative and really enjoyed it. If like me, you like to get to the nitty gritty aspects of something, then this is probably a book you'll enjoy. For students of child development, health visitors and basically anyone involved in the care of children including parents this will arm you with a wealth of relevant information. It discusses advancements in neuroscience and increased understanding of the 'baby brain' and how it develops along with the impact of relationships, emotions and social development.
The neuroscience aspects of the book may be challenging for some, but none-the-less, essential reading to be able to fully understand the full story. I feel this book is worth the investment.
