The wrong book for me,
This review is from: Charles I: A Life of Religion, War and Treason (Paperback)
This was unfortunately advertised on Amazon under the wrong author's name, that of David Starkey who only wrote the preface. I don't like Christopher Hibbert's books, and I only dipped into it but found it just typical - all second-hand information and quite a few of the old myths too. I have returned it to Amazon and got my money back, and I see it is now advertised under the correct name!

William Kemp says:
You were expecting first-hand sources in a book about Charles I?

Hank Norville Carter says:
Revisionism occurs in far earlier subjects than Charles I.
First hand sources occasionally turn up but, more usual, reassessments of the known facts take place.
