This review is from: How Bad Are Bananas?: The carbon footprint of everything (Paperback)
You might not expect a list of carbon emissions associated with elements of everyday life to be readable, let alone interesting, but I found this book fascinating and entertainingly written. The format is simple - start with the small things in terms of carbon emissions and work up to the big stuff. Bananas come quite near the beginning, as though they travel a long way, it is slowly, and by boat. They also fare well as cyclist fuel, resulting in a much lower rate of carbon emissions per mile than fuelling your cyclist on cheeseburgers (you may as well drive!).
