Does everything it is said to do.
Good graphics and effects.
A few shortcomings/problems:
The device is very heavy (compared to the iPhone).
Boot-up takes quite long.
Landscape to Portrait mode (by turning device) does not always work fast enough and the automatic mode does not always kick in.
USSM-type communication (*100# etc.) is not supported out of the box but one has to install a USSD application to do so. This application has shortcomings (i.e. it only works in portrait mode and the messages that are returned scrolls off the screen and also cuts the tops of some of the keys).
To reset the device to the factory settings requires some hefty downloads and re-flashing of the system software.
WiFi is very energy inefficient.
Keyboard is (buttons are) a bit small for large fingers.
Should be shipped with carry pouch to protect screen - if it is dropped, the screen usually must be replaced at great cost.
The Ovi store should have more applications (Apple iPhone is a lot better in this regard).
Offline documentation (device functionality) should be included in package.
Mini-USB plug is non-standard (shape) - would be nice if any mini-USB plug could fit.
A flash memory port should be added for external access (on one of the sides of the device).
More melodies for ring tones should be included.

C. Thompson says:
Just in case anyone reads about the usb connector, it is a standard, it's the micro usb format which is the EU standard phone charger. These are a lot more common now admittedly (2 years after the original poster).
