This review is from: Play Money Sterling Pounds Coins & Notes (T09378) (Toy)
Got this play money as a last resort for my Father-in-law, who has recently been admitted to a care home with Alzheimer's. Why, you may ask? Well, the poor man has been asking where his money is every time we go to visit. His wife took £40 in and placed it inside his wallet and needless to say, it went missing. Obviously, we don't know where it went - it could be anywhere. Residents do go in and out of each others rooms and my Father-in-law may have quite innocently given it to another person, unfortunately he just can't remember. I suggested to my husband that we should try this play money and though it's quite a bit smaller than the real thing, it's authentic looking in colour and appearance, and we won't be at all worried if it gets lost. We put it inside his wallet when he wasn't looking, and later he seemed surprised that his "money" had turned up again. Believe me, you'll try anything to keep a family member happy and dignified if you're ever in this situation...

Thankyou so much for your lovely comment. I should have added that we only gave my Father in law the paper part of the "money", but it was a great help. Thanks again...

Thankyou so much for the lovely comment and wishes. Sadly, he passed away on 21st October after 18 months in a home where he was taken care of with such dignity, support and care that it definitely eased the burden and heartbreak for the family. I was really surprised that so many people took the time to read this review, and I hope it has helped others who may also be in a similar situation. I send my love and good wishes to you all xx

It is a lovely review, very caring, lovely story. I am sad that he is no longer with you, but for what you wrote, it is clear that you gave him all the care and love you could and it must of great comfort to you that he was so cared for at all times. Take care.
