Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Beyond the Celtic Cross: Secret Techniques for Taking Tarot to an Exciting New Level (Paperback)
i found the book an interesting read and enlightening
my one complaint is that the initial explanation about numbering and elements could have been broken down in a more step by step manner to facilitate easier following of the system the author is trying to explain.
he mentions counting often in the first few chapters but a little sketch showing starting point, finishing point would have made my reading experiences a whole lot better.
i feltfrustrated on the first few reading attempts i could have thrown the book in the bin.
i think the author assumes the reader has the same knowledge of this system that brought him to write the book.

I wish I had taken more notice of this review before buying this item. I too, found it a very frustrating read and learned less from it about the card counting technique than I did from the author's website. I have purchased cheaper tarot books which are an invaluable reference and this is not. Its drawn out explanation of a very simple reading is complicated in its approach. It is not clear, without constantly referring back a few pages, what approach the author is now relying upon to analyse the spread in question. Not much in the way of a learning experience for the technique more a rambling of a personal experience he wanted to share.
