Great phone, just a shame about the battery and problems with build quality,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: HTC One X 32GB Sim Free Smartphone - Grey (Wireless Phone Accessory)I was really excited for this phone and received it on the week it was released. All started so well and I was really impressed with the screen and the feel of the phone in the hand.
I was concerned from the start with the battery life, but I held out in the hope that the new software update would help in this respect.
I also started to experience flickering on the screen after a few days of use. This was not resolved with the update, so I ordered a replacement from Amazon. (Incidentally, the battery was not improved by this update).
Amazon responded very quickly and sent out a replacement before I even sent the faulty one to them. Which was nice.
The new phone seemed to be ok, however I did notice an issue with the micro-sim slot that did not sit flush with the body of the phone. I also found that one of the soft touch buttons on the front of the phone was faulty. So I, therefore, decided to return this phone too, but this time for a refund.
Among these problems, the main reason for returning the One X was down to the battery life. I am aware of the huge, high pixel density screen that the device possesses, which is why I do not understand why a bigger battery was not included.
A lot of people report heavy use with 8-10 hours of battery life here, but I just do not understand this. I would not define heavy use as sending texts and browsing the web, but I struggled to get around 6-7 hours doing just that with the screen brightness set to minimum. All this with a total screen on time of around 2.5 hours.
I will be trying the ONE S, as I do like the camera software and the new sense is a huge improvement over touchwiz for me.
I keep wanting to be proven wrong as I do really like the phone, but I cannot manage with the battery life being as it is.
