Planes, Trains & Automobiles BLURAY,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Planes, Trains & Automobiles [Blu-ray] [Region Free] (Blu-ray)
This review is about the actual Blu-Ray, not the film:
Distributor: Paramount Home Entertainment
Catalogue Number: BSP 2291
Running time: 92 mins
Ratio: 1.78:1 Anamorphic widescreen
Audio: English 5.1 dts-HD Master Audio, Portugese Mono, Spanish Mono
Subtitles: English, English SDH, French, Portugese, Spanish
The hi-def transfer is surprisingly very good for a film of its age (1987), I must admit I was expecting a slight upgrade from the DVD print and was pleased to see a substantial improvement in picture quality.
BLU-RAY EXTRAS: (HD = Hi-Definition)
*"Getting There Is Half The Fun: The Story of Planes, Trains And Automobiles" (a post-film press conference with John Hughes, Steve Martin and John Candy talking about their involvement in the film with a crowd of reporters).
*John Hughes: Life Moves Pretty Fast featuring John Hughes: The Voice of a Generation (HD)
*Heartbreak And Triumph: The Legacy of John Hughes (HD)
*John Hughes For Adults
*A Tribute To John Candy
*Deleted Scene: "Airport Food" (HD)
Note: These are the same extras that appear on the Region 1 DVD "Those Are Not Pillows" Special Edition DVD.
I hope this helps viewers/potential customers.

I guess we'll never get all the deleted scenes from the film, it's too bad.

Mr. D. J. Heath says:
I think it will be harder now because of John Hughes's death. Even if it was restored now, who would edit the film together? Would love to see it all, and then we could finally discover why John Candy has that black eye near the end of the film.

S. Johnson says:
The featurettes Life Moves Pretty Fast and Heartbreak and Triumph aren't on the 'Pillows' Region 1 dvd - they were either left off or created later. The press conference is on the dvd, as well as the deleted scene and the JC tribute.
I'll have to double dip now. I recently bought the Pillows version on marketplace!

Thanks Heath, this is correct, but there are two types of Spanish, one from Spain (europe) and otrer different latin from South America (argentina, mexico, chile...etc)
if someone could confirm I'd appreciate. (the USA version i think is in spanish latin, but UK versión i don´t know)
I hope that a native speaker english can differentiate the Latin accent.
Thanks for advance.
note: spanish (Spain) version is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRJseUfxVR
"Plains Trains and Automoviles" in spanish is "mejor solo que mal acompañado"
