2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new or innovative, 11 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Precious Metal (Audio CD)
all said with the above. Dream Theater, Benedictum have contributed to innovating Hard Rock. But this is not new. o.k. for people who like the same all over again.

Bizarre given that Dream Theatre are progressive metal and Benedictum are heavy metal where as House of Lords are Melodic Rock. Hard Rock is more Pat Travers. HOL are not aiming to produce stuff in either of the genres of that bands who you think sound like them. Bendedictum just sound like generic euro rock. There are a 1000 bands who sound just like them. Check out Battle beast who blow them away.

I quite like some Dream Theater, they would be the last band I'd compare to HoL though. I thought this (Precious Metal) was a great album though.

Well said. It makes me laugh when people complain of 'more of the same', when bands do change things around, most people complain that its 'not really them'. What is more important is that when you like a band, the music they produce is good quality, after all, we all know what to expect from AC/DC, Saxon, Whitesnake etc. etc. and on the occasions that they veer from the normal, the album/song usually gets a slating. I dont think you can compare Dream Theatre to a band like HOL, the important thing is the quality of a song. A good tune is a good tune!!!!
