Great blend of Tom Clancy & Dan Brown,

This review is from: The History Thief: Ten Days Lost (The Sterling Novels Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
After reading 'The Hand of Christ', I couldn't wait to get my hands on this follow up.
Once again, Michael Sterling crosses paths with 'The Order' in a global conspiracy dating back to Christ.
The first two thirds of the book are very action based - military operations, conspiracy, robberies, etc with the final third switching to Dan Brown mode for a historical treasure hunt.
The story is gripping and relentless - really difficult to put down.
I have a few gripes, which have lost a star from the rating:
* The author insists on trailing everything that is going to happen so the element of surprise is often lost.
* it's a long book and the same tricks are used too frequently - bullet proof vests, etc.
* Early on, there is an event of global impact but the rest of the book never really feels like it's happened - no sense of realism around the reaction.
Anyway, looking forward to the next in the series.
