A great adventurer's classic,
This review is from: Rayman (PS) (Video Game)
I played this game years and years ago and I am now 21 and still love the attentive game playing, the 2D styling and the annoyingly addictiveness of it all.
Similar to a Crash Bandicoot format you work yourself through various styled environments including jungles, a musical sky and boulder filled mountains. The object is to find 6 cages on each section and fight and defeat enemies.
There are many levels and frequent boss levels which, even at my age, can be reasonably difficult. Especially the rock mountain one.
But the pure joy of this game and its ever alternating universe is the reason there is now a franchise of Rayman games. Jumping on disappearing clouds, using hair to fly, getting powers off a fairy and grabbing floating pink rings are some of the simple joys of what many have called a timeless classic.
Because of my love for this game I bought Hoodlum Havoc a few years ago which is a 3D advancement but it is more confusing and have played it about twice briefly.
Nevertheless this is quite challenging at times but 100% fun packed novelty that should delight many gamers or neutrals getting started.
