"I'm writing this slowly as I know you can't read very quickly" was an old joke; sadly, it seems to be the reasoning in this book, too. At over a third of the way through the story, the heroine still hasn't had the great significance of her being with her new friends explained to her, but she's told us repeatedly how attracted she is to the hero. I could find little trace of a plot, and was extremely bored by the regular appearance of variations of "There's something very important I have to tell you, but this isn't quite the time..." At that point, I gave up, flicked to the end, only to find yet another standard plot convention, and sent my copy into the ether.
