A Useful Primer to Understanding Stress,
This review is from: Chill Out: Proven Ways to Reduce Stress (Kindle Edition)
The title perhaps oversells this short book a little. There is no `silver bullet' within its pages, however the book is a useful primer for those taking the first steps to recognise the impact of stress on their lives and the directions in which they might begin seeking solutions.
The book contains nothing particularly profound or new, its virtue is that it gathers together in a concise form a rounded introduction to stress, in turn outlining what it is, the causes, symptoms, resulting disorders, possible therapies and treatments.
Commendably the book is brief, as befits a title seeking to be read by those feeling stressed, and can easily be read in an hour. Of course for many in stressed situations even an hour may put the book beyond their reach, so the book may usefully be read instead by caring partners.
In summary then, there's nothing here you can't find elsewhere, but if you want a simple primer on the subject of stress this might prove to be a useful start point.
