Absolutely dreadful sound quality!,
This review is from: Sticky Fingers (Audio CD)
I have never bothered to review any purchases previously but after listening to this so called re-mastered version I felt I had to.
The dynamic range is severely compressed which distorts the music badly. Brown Sugar is worse then previous releases including the Forty Licks album.
The studio engineer clearly has no skill and I have had to buy the older 1994 version as a replacement.
I would advise anyone who cares about sound quality to boycott this release.

Haven't heard the 2004, 2009 or later re-issue only heard the CBS issue which is pretty dreadful.
Which one did you find the best. You mention the 1994 one, is that the virgin one.

Hey there. Thanks for your review. I'm not familiar with 'Sticky Fingers' at all because, overall, I am not the biggest of Stones fans. I am very much a casual. However, I bought a 2009 Remasters copy of 'Tattoo You' there yesterday and I thought the sound on that was quite good, for the most part. I am just writing to say thanks for your feedback regarding 'Sticky Fingers' and its quality as I was going to purchase that next. Guess I won't be buying a 2009 copy. I presume that's the one you were reviewing?
