The best and the worst of Mott the Hoople, thankfully at an OK price,
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)What a mixed bag. You get the three studio albums that the Ian Hunter-fronted version of the band cut for Columbia. These are good to great and essential owns for any fan.
But then there are the other two albums, the ones made after Ian Hunter left. They're an embarrassment of the highest order, bad and worse, and in a just world they'd already be permanently out of print.
In a half just world, you'd only get the first three albums, at an even more reduced price. In this world, you get all five albums, three to be cherished and two to be burned, at the price of about one and a half. Not a terrible deal, all considered, but it pains me to even imagine putting digital versions of those last two on my CD rack.
