A huge help to graduates from all subjects,
This review is from: The Graduate Career Guidebook: Advice for Students and Graduates on Careers Options, Jobs, Volunteering, Applications, Interviews and Self-employment (Palgrave Study Skills) (Paperback)
I really like this book by Steve Rook. It contains everything that a graduate needs to know, from writing a CV and polishing up your application form, to becoming an entrepreneur and choosing a career path. It is not directed at any particular graduate or any particular subject, meaning that the advice is open to every student whatever their age. In particular, the advice for job interviews is particularly vital (i.e. promoting yourself, networking and open letters) considering our economic climate. Some students might also find chapter 6 - further study - of particular interest, because many of us wish to continue with an MA after graduating.
Everything is covered in this book, and it is written in an encouraging and approachable way. Highly recommended to all graduates who are looking to use their degree in a positive way, whatever that might be!
