My favourite author,
This review is from: Plan for Chaos: Classic Science Fiction (Paperback)
I am still reading this book. It has some interesting themes that John Wyndham explores in other books, such as women acting like a bee hive, without men.
I think there are two reasons I am struggling to enjoy this novel. The first is that it has been edited from an Americanised version and an English version by other people (i.e. not the author) and the fact there is so much uneasy American language in it. Even in some of his other works (Stowaway to Mars, The Secret People) with American characters in, the English style of his writing comes through.
I'd be interested to see other peoples opinions on this.
