But Ted, they've got a Spiderbaby...,

This review is from: Father Ted: The Complete First Series [VHS] (VHS Tape)
A real comedy treat, the first series of Father Ted mixes surreal images (both mental and physical) with a satirical view of the Catholic Priesthood in a house occupied by Fathers Ted Crilley, Jack Hackett, Dougal Maguire and their housekeeper Mrs Doyle. Battling with such problems as the tyrannical Bishop Brennan, the visiting Funland, Father Jack's drinking and the incredibly boring Father Stone, the entire series will have you laughing out loud.
You can't help but cringe along with the corrupt but likeable Ted who has been placed on his Craggy Island hell with the stupid Dougal and the abusive and alcoholic Jack following the disappearance of funds from a charity set up to send sick parishioners to Lourdes. (He claims the money was just "resting" in his account.) The escapades he and Dougal are forced into provide the basis for one of the most original and best written comedy series in the last twenty years. Still as fresh now as it was almost ten years ago - a comic masterpiece.

The third series has some fine moments of humour, but this is so flat.As to induce coma.
