Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Meaning of Liff: The Original Dictionary Of Things There Should Be Words For (Hardcover)
I have a 1992 paperback copy of "Deeper Meaning of Liff" - which I love - and when "After Liff" was announced I decided I wanted a copy of the original version as well, so I would have all three. Unfortunately this is not it. I assumed it was a reprint of the original "Meaning of Liff" but in fact it appears to be a new (and revised) edition of "Deeper Meaning of Liff" without actually mentioning this on the title!
Stupidly, some of the entries have been brought up-to-date: "Ainsworth" is now the length of time it takes to get served in a mobile phone shop, rather than a camera shop. It was this that made me realise that the book was not a re-print as the original was published in 1983, before mobile phones. ("Deeper" uses the camera shop...)
Sadly it's probably too late to return this as I bought it a few weeks ago and only just got around to having a look through...
