This review is from: How to Get a PhD: a handbook for students and their supervisors (Paperback)
This book gives you very practical insight about how to get and how to go through a PhD. Personally I find most of the book not relevant for me as they give you practical suggestions a bout getting an advisor, talking with him/her, contacting the university, etc. But few or null important information about, for instance, how to shape your research project, where to focus, what is considered important depending on the area of studies you are going to apply for your PhD. If you are looking for information about what to do in order to look for a PhD is a good book to have. If you are looking for information about how to write a good project or what is expected of a PhD project to have, this book is not relevant.
