This review is from: No One Wants You: A Memoir of a Child Forced into Prostitution (Paperback)
I read the book all in two days I couldnt put it down. The tears I cried for her. The hurt I feel the sadness how could a family be so cold and cruel. She was their own. I will never understand. Times where very different then. But Celine is a beautiful person and carries all the ways of her real family.

I read this book only recently and found it easy but harrowing to read Christine's story I felt so sick and sad afterwards. How was her wicked fostermother ever allowed " to care" of a child. it is almost beyond belief that so many ignored her cruel plight, where was Christian compassion and kindness. To add to her pain her family failed her too, and she suffered health problems and then the tragedy of her little boys death.
She is a wonderful woman to survive it all, she has shown such grit and courage enduring it all. I hope she will find peace and healing.
Her story is a shameful reflection on Irish society of that time.
Why were innocent children betrayed by those who should have cared for them. I will never understand it.
