Made my son into a dinosaur fan!,
This review is from: How to Grow a Dinosaur (Paperback)
We started reading this to our son when he was just under two, and it is still one of the few being read to him every night 14 months later.
It is an unusual story, and so fantastical that it seems to have really ignited his imagination. He is crazy about dinosaurs, and this book has certainly been instrumental in that. The premise of the story is that a sulking little boy (named Albie) is convinced to help his mum in the garden, ans unexpectedly grows a dinosaur-filled garden overnight. It has an adventurous storyline, with plenty of opportunities to make believe as we are reading. The only downside to the story is that Albie climbs out of his window to seek out the new world that he has grown from the seeds sown the previous day. Our son has to take a moment each time to ask how much trouble he would be in if he left the house without mum or dad with him!
I have no daughters, but our boys love this story, and has been the source of great discussion and fun at bedtime and in the garden.
